Exploiting Europe's Public Sector Information
This document describes 20 projects designed to set up new mechanisms for information exchange and coordination of information held at different levels of the public sector and under diffeernt rules for access throughout the Member States of the EU. This will benefit both end-users, and information-holders themselves, who might want access to similar data from other countries. The projects detailed here were shortlisted from 141 proposals. Their titles are as follows: Air Pollution and Environmental Impact Assessment (AIR-EIA); Added Value Information Dissemination from Hydrographical Data Sets (AVID); CLEAR (spatial dat-clearing house Saar-Lor-Lux); La Clef (e-commerce); Digital Historical Maps; European Economic Exchange Network (E3NET); the European Archive Network (EUAN); European Visual Archive (EVA); European Water Regulation Bank (EWRB); European Waste Information Network (E-WIN); FIRM (information on foundation of firms); Fruit and Vegetables for Health; Interactive Well-being Map (IWWWM); Marine Sand and Gravel Information Service (MAGIS); Methods for Access to Data and Metadata in Europe (MADAME); NETPAGE (for traffic, tourism, parking and environment); No Smoking!; Réseau des Données Culturelles Européenes (RDCE); Value-added Thematic Geo-Information (VATGI); Visualization Interface for Regional Geological Objects (VIRGO).
