Simulation of different pumping configurations for the CIEL project on Tore Supra
In the framework of the CIEL project, allowing to improve Tore Supra heat and particle exhaust capability, a toroidal pump limiter will be implemented in the bottom of the machine. This paper presents the study of the pumping system associated with this limiter, in terms of pumping efficiency and extracted flux. Simulations have been performed for different configurations, using the EIRENE neutral transport code, and show that the pumping system should provide efficient density control for the scenarios contemplated for CIEL.
