Abstract

Confinement in TCV electron cyclotron heated discharges is studied as a function of plasma, for example, as a function of elongation 1.1 < k < 2.15 and triangularity -0.65³8³0.5. The electron energy confinement time is found to increase with elongation, in part due to the increase of plasma current with elongation. The beneficial effect of negative triangularities is most effective at low power and tends to reduce at the high powers used
