Abstract

During the few last series of experiments in W7-AS stellarator, very high power heating scenarios were performed. The typical scenario of these experiments is low-field-side injection of X-mode polarized electromagnetic waves for both perpendicular and oblique launching. The used frequency corrsponds to the condition w=2w(ce) on the axis of the device. In correspondence with the direction of the bootstrap-current two kinds of scenario were used, co- and counter-injection. In order to minimize the influence of the plasma current on the equilibrium an inductive compensation current was used, keeping the total net current in the plasma equal to zero
