Betriebsuberwachung mit Verfahren der Kunstlichen Intelligenz
In recent years much attention has been paid to the introduction of artificial intelligence procedures such as Artificial Neuronal Nets or Fuzzy Logic into production or decision-making operations. Successful applications have included the reduction of computer resources and time required to solve particular types of problems and the use of a fuzzy logic component to eliminate shake in video cameras, while a few other attempts to apply artificial intelligence to everyday problems have been complete failures. Potential future applications need undergo critical feasibility analysis. Specially-developed algorithms have been designed with the intention that they should be interchangeable between different projects and suitable soft-ware is available for several operating systems. Certain aspects of mining operations such as the impact of weather changes can only benefit from the use of the special algorithms and an appropriate project is in hand while the possibility also exists for earlier recognition of developing plant faults. The main object of the report is to widen the degree of awareness about the potential advantages of artificial intelligence in industry while warning that much more development work is required.
