Abstract

The general aim of the project was to develop a fine coal distribution system, with following specific objectives; to further investigate the use of enhanced density techniques such as the Multi-G separator and the Knelson concentrator, to investigate the use of cyclonic separation devices for the removal of pyrite from ultra fine coal, to investigate the application of selective froth flotation techniques, such as froth flotation column, either alone or in combination with density separation techniques, to continue a reduced level of research into other potential sulphur reduction techniques, such as electrostatic separation and magnetic separation, through university research.
