Phase shift and Decorrelation of Radar Signal related to soil Moisture Changes
It is well known that the level and profile of the soil moisture influence significantly the radar response of terrain. A lot of experimental and theoretical work has been dedicated to understanding of the problem, however, very little has been done concerning the absolute these of the signal and how this is related to the moisture conditions. This aspect becomes important in multi pass SAR both decorrelation and coherent phase shift in the signal which, on one side, are a source of error for the reconstruction of the terrain relief and, on the other side, may provide valuable on the information changes.
