Tritium Recovery from PB-17LI Alloy Using a 2D-SiCf/SiC composite Permeator Column
Ceramic composites can be considered as candidate membrane permeator materials because of their high hydrogen leak rate (they are very porous materials) especially when it is in contact with a low hydrogen solubility medium such as the lithium-lead alloy. A dispersion model has been developed and implemented numerically to derive the column extraction efficiencies for a range of tritium dilution factors in the Pb-17Li and different alloy-bubbled gas hydrodynamic conditions.
