'Error propagation in the reprocessing plant head-end measurements: beliefs and truth
Determination of the mass of nuclear material at the reprocessing plant head-end is a complex procedure, involving tens or even hundreds of measurements, performed with various instrument type, under variable operating conditions and covering a period of time of up to decades. Reports a complete study of the possible systematic head-end measurements and of their propagation and composition. It shows how the normal procedure compensates some of these errors and how certain "improvements" in the procedures may turn out to be more harmful than useful.
