The management at river basin scale: the case of Lake Iseo (Italy)
Water quality and availability are relevant factors in all the Lombardy region's economic activities. In 1985 the Regional Water Clean-Up Plan (PRRA) was drawn up by the regional authorities. For natural lakes, the final objective defined in the PRRA is to achieve a qualitative status close to the 'natural' qualitative of the lake. This objective is in accordance with that of the European Commission's new proposal for a Water Framework Directive.
