Examines some of the social dimensions of multimedia content development and interactive electronic publishing. Takes a 'bottom-up' approach to multimedia content development in Europe. Given that the market potential of multimedia content in Europe has yet to be realized, and that possibilities associated with the 'infotainment' and media sectors are already well covered elsewhere, this report focuses instead on the potential for locally-based socially inclusive and market-oriented multimedia content development in Europe.
