Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

One of the main barriers to impede large scale introduction of PV elements in buildings, is the lack of certified building products that have integrated PV modules. This is severe handicap in a community in which all building products should carry the CE mark. In the ongoing harmonization of European building codes no procedures have yet been established that are suited for certification of PV modules for building use. The reason for this is the multi-functionality of PV systems in buildings, together with the way they are built.
