Abstract

This paper presents one of the conclusive reports of PV-Hybrid-PAS, a JOULE project executed buy PAS LINK, network of outdoor thermal test facilities and the JRC Ispra. A principal objective of the PV hybrid PAS project is the development of a methodology to determine the thermal and electrical performance of hybrid PV components, with some consideration of their impact on daylighting and comfort. In cases that the PV elements are applied as building construction components they become a part of the building envelope. However, the primary function of the building envelope is to protect the occupants of a building from the external climate. The building envelope may need to fulfil other performance requirements in order to meet the specifications of the client, designer and legislation.
