Abstract

The accurate assay of plutonium in samples of sintered material has proven to pose occasionally problems to analytical laboratories. This also reflects in the analytical uncertainties quoted in the 1993 International Target Values. Methods requiring complete sample dissolution compete with methods directly applicable to the undissolved pellets. In a comparative investigation MOX pellets were analyzed using different measurement techniques and the results were subjected to a comparative evaluation
