Determination of Zn in high-purity GaAs by Neutron Activation analysis
The analysis of Zn concentrations in high-purity GaAs by neutron activation analysis is presented. A combination of chemical separation of the neutron-induced (65)Zn from the GaAs-matrix with anion-exchange chromatography and either ultra-low level gamma ray spectrometry in an underground laboratory or liquid scintillation counting was used. Zn concentration ranged from 0.8 to 21 ng g(-1), and detection limits 0.06ng g(-1) were obtained.
