In the safeguarding of nuclear facilities more efficient utilization of resources has orientated research applications to make the use of unattended process measurement data collection systems. For large scale reprocessing and fabrication facilities much of the safeguards relevant data are taken from tanks where inventory and batch flows are monitored. Devices which have been developed at the JRC Ispra, such as unattended portable pressure measurement instruments are capable of registering and permanently recording relevant data pertinent to the process operations in a timely mode.
