The gyro-radius scaling of ion thermal transport from global numerical simulations of ion temperature gradient driven turbulence
A three-dimensional, fluid code is used to study the scaling of ion thermal transport code used by ion-temperature-gradient-driven turbulence. The code includes toroidal effects and is capable of simulating the whole torus. It is found that both close to the ITG threshold and well above threshold, the thermal transport and the turbulence structures exhibit a gyro-Bohm scaling, at least for plasmas with moderate poloidal flow.
