Examination of melted fuel rods and released core material from the first Phebus-FP Reactor Accident Experiment
The Phebus-FP Project is managed jointly by the Institut de Protection et Surete Nucleaire, Cadarache, France and the Institute for Safety Technologies at JRC-Ispra, Italy with contributions from Canada, Japan, South Korea, the USA and, since 1995, Switzerland. The project is designed to measure the source-term and to study the degradation of irradiated UO(2) fuel in conditions typical of a severe loss of coolant accident in a pressurized water reactor.
