Chemical erosion of carbon in the divertor of ASDEX upgrade
Chemical erosion carbon via hydrocarbon formation is investigated by spectroscopic particle flux measurements and with Langmuir probes in the outer Divertor II of the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak. The measurements are made about 10cm above the strike point of the separatrix at the vertical target plate for hydrogen ion flux densities up to 10(23) and up to reactor-relevant values of the power per major plasma radius.
