Model phase portraits of a sediment-stratified oceanic bottom layer
In the case when the thickness of the layer of saltation and the concentration of suspended particles at the upper boundary of this layer are considered to be dependent on the bottom friction stress defect, it is shown that the vertical structure of a stationary horizontally homogenous sediment-stratified bottom logarithmic layer is uniquely determined by three dimensionless parameters: the Rouse number, the relative friction velocity and the dimensionless height. Phase portraits of the region of influence of sediment stratification determined by the Kolmogorov number and of he average velocity and the concentration of suspended particles, are given. Some general regularities are revealed in variations of SSBLL characteristics in one or another subregion of the phase space.
