Abstract

This report investigates some aspects of te information contained in directional measurements as may be provided by the PRISM sensor of ESA's Land-Surface Processes and Interactions Mission. Specifically, the goal is to assess the retrieval accuracy with which the albedo and bidirectional reflectance factor field can be retrieved as a function of the number of observations and their angular distribution. A BRF data base is generated for different surface types, solar positions and wavelengths.
