The preparation of 183W targets by electrodeposition for (n, alpha) studies
A method was developed for the production of a thin 183W layer on an aluminium foil, which will be used in a (n, alpha) reaction study. Electrodeposition of the dissolved tungsten species in methanol gave the best results with respect to target quality. By performing the successive deposition cycles at a low current density, a white rectangular deposit with a thickness between 100 and 200 ug/cm(2) was produced.
