Abstract

This poster presents the results of part of the work performed within the project: 'NEWPART: New partitioning techniques', contract FI4I-CT96-0010.

Among several processes proposed world-wide, the French DIAMEX seems to be very efficient for the removal of TRU elements from genuine high level liquid waste. The minor actinides are in this process directly extracted from the PUREX raffinate together with fission lanthanide's using the completely combustible diamide extractant. The AN(III) + Ln(III) mixture generated after this first step is low-acidic to facilitate the second process which concerns the separation of the MA from the lanthanide's using a BisTriazinylPyridine. .
