The assessment of the long-term safety of a deep geological repository for radioactive waste requires evaluation of the groundwater flow conditions in the host rock and in other units and formations that may be important in terms of repository performance. This project aimed at developing a greater understanding of the influence of faults on the migration of radionuclides in fractured rocks. In particular, numericl modelling approaches and codes were developed for evaluating fluid flow and radionuclide transport in faulted and fractured repository host rocks.
