Funded under: FP5-EESD

Abstract

The systematic application of environmental management instruments is going to be one of the major issues for public authorities in the upcoming decades. This coincides with the development of research on this issue from experimental stage to implementation stage. As a consequence more and more people are searching for paths through the large number of instruments which have come up in recent years. The central assumption of this book is tat all management instruments contribute to environmental management's systems according to the small generic management cycle. The book provides an overview on the status achieved in European local authorities: an overview on Local loops.
