Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The European Pressure Equipment Research council (EPERC) which includes industries, inspection bodies, standardization bodies, governmental institutions and research laboratories representing some 14 countries seems to be now very important on the European scene. This network is providing added value to conduct relevant scientific research and development to support new technical standards. The objective is to be more innovative, economic and competitive than any other established standards in this field. As described, this issue is addressed within "Technical Task Forces" which were mainly identified through a survey of research currently undertaken by the Pressure Equipment community in Europe. Several members of the EPERC Steering Committee who are active within the individual Technical Committees maintain the link between EPERC and the CEN Technical Committees. The objectives of EPERC are addressing the 5 h Framework Programme of the European Commission and also an active collaboration with the PVRC and the Japanese PVRC.
