Validation of Methods for the detection of genetically modified organisms at a European level
A qualitative method based on the detection of DNA by applying the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and a protein-based method (ELISA: enzyme linked immuno sorbent assay) have been recently validated for raw materials on a European level in a collaborative trial study. Furthermore, methods regarding the detection in processed food products and the quantification of GM0s food were tested in a collaborative study.
