Abstract

On-Line Control of Flat Product Rolling compiles the ECSC workshop's data findings. This workshop, the culminating focus of many years of intensive research, held recently in Brussels, focused primarily in three major areas of the steel industry, namely that of Shape Control, Product And Quality Control and lastly, Mill Control And Monitoring.

On-Line Control of Flat Product Rolling details the workshops findings, conclusions and results as well as addresses the immediate needs of the European steel industry by bringing together researchers, steel producers, end users and suppliers, all in an effort to better insure quality of demand of on-line control of the flat products, about achievement and applications, terms reference with competitors outside the EU and to explore trends in edge-technologies and to identify priority areas of further investigation.

With this in mind, On-Line Control of Flat Product Rolling Workshop focused on flat-products in particular simply because the demand for flat products was estimated at 56% of all steel products including forging, casting, steel tubes and fittings.
