Experiments and 3D Non-linear Modelling of Heat Transport in Ergodic Zone on Tore Supra
The diffusive heat transport is considered numerically taking into account magnetic field line stochasticity in the ergodic divertor configuration on Tore Supra. In the 3D non-linear simulations the transport coefficients can have a non-linear dependence on the temperature: Spitzer for parallel and Bohm-like for transverse heat conductivities. The simulations reproduce the main experimental features of tile temperature field with ergodic divertor: flattening of the averaged temperature profile in ergodic zone, steep gradient near separatrix and small radial modulations, which exhibit the same angle periodicity as the edge resonant harmonics (q = m/n) of the ergodic divertor spectrum.
