Abstract

This paper describes the European technology programme on high heat flux components for the Next Step fusion reactor with main emphasis on carbon armoured mock-ups. The R&D included the development of high thermal conductivity 3D CFC composites, the manufacturing of mono block and flat tile components, the development of suitable non-destructive methods and the investigation of the critical heat flux limits.
