Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This publication draws together the research results of workers from across a wide region of Europe -from Norway to Italy - dealing mainly with investigations into the pot plant Cyclamen persicum, and with the Norway spruce tree (Picea abies).

The papers in this book cover a wide range of topics, starting with an overview of the European market, estimated to be 250 million Cyclamen plants per year, which emphasises the economic value of just this single crop, and ending with a reflective analysis of what progress has been achieved by the research programme towards incorporating technological advances in plant cell and tissue culture that will make European production of Cyclamen more efficient and cost-competitive.. e
