Building integration issues for photovoltaics
PV technology has a high potential as a renewable energy resource in the built environment, with conversion of solar energy into electricity at place of use. The concept of Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) is to combine electricity generation with conventional building functions in roof, faÞade or shading components. The successful integration of PV requires the synthesis of both building performance and power generation issues to achieve optimum performance.
