Abstract

The High Flux Reactor is equipped with 12 horizontal neutron beam tubes. Beam tubes HB4 and HB5 are equipped with diffractometers for residual stress and powder investigations. Their characteristics and recent applications concerning residual stress testing in thick piping welds and temperature dependent measurements on phase transitions in inter-metallic compounds and on Li ion energy storage materials are shown.
