This report describes the development of a new analytical method for the determination of fumonisin B(1) (FB(1) and fumonisin B(2) (FB(2) in different maize products (maize flour, cornflakes, extruded maize, muffms and infant formula) and its interlaboratory validation specifically for maize flour and cornflakes. This is the second and final report of a project supported by the European Commission -Standards Measurements and Testing Programme (SMT, Contract No. SMT4-CT97-2193) aimed to the development and validation of a horizontal method satisfying the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) acceptance criteria for recovery, repeatability and reproducibility .The method was developed following the results of a ruggedness-test which allowed to identify the two most important critical factors (extr1tion solvent and clean-up step) that affect method performances (see previous report, EUR 19096 EN).
