The certification of ambient temperature tensile properties of a reference material for tensile testing according to EN10002-1 CRM 661

Funded under: FP5-GROWTH

A nickel base alloy, Nimonic 75, has been certified as BCR CRM 661 for ambient temperature tensile properties (0.2 % proof stress RpO.2 = 300 7 MPa, 0.5 % proof stress RpO.5 = 318 7 MPa, ultimate tensile strength Rm = 750 13 MPa, elongation at fracture A = 40.9 0.9% and reduction in area Z = 60 4 %). An indicative value for Young's modulus, E = 206 21 GPa has been given. The material was tested by five laboratories according to the method described in EN 10002-1 (1989).

The material is available as 14 mm diameter bar in lengths of 150 mm (one unit = 3 bars), suitable for fabrication of tensile test-pieces. .
