The control of active substances used in boicides in the European Union by means of a review regulation
In early 1998, the European Commission and parliament adopted Directive 98/8/EC concerning the placing in the market of biocidal products. After the adoption of the Directive the Commission started the proposal for a Review Regulation of the existing active biocidal substances. This article outlines the effort currently being undertaken, to define the procedures to be used. A statistical analysis of current uses of the active substances is included (correct as of February 2000).
