Abstract

These leaching experiments report the effects of four important parameters (redox potential, pH, carbonate concentration and temperature) on the dissolution kinetics of the spent fuel matrix phase. The kinetic of dissolution of irradiated UQ2 fuel has been studied in deionized water and synthetic granite groundwater under oxidising conditions at room temperature. Preliminary results with non- irradiated UQ2 show the non-secondary phase precipitation.
