Anomalous creep behaviour of Nicalon/CVI SiC ceramic matrix composites
Silicon carbide fibre reinforced ceramic matrix composites are extensively studied for applications in the hot gas path of gas turbines. For those loading conditions, knowledge on their creep behaviour is indispensable. The paper reports on the occurrence of anomalous, i.e. negative creep strain accumulation in such composites over a range of stresses and temperatures.
