Abstract

Everyday human activities leave behind solid, liquid and gaseous waste, which tend to increase the concentration levels in air, water, soil-sediment and biota. The evaluation of the concentration of these products is now compulsory for planning a strategy of intervention for the sake of Earths health. For thirty years, indicators have been used as monitors of environment pollution; their main advantages can be found in their reduced cost and in the integrated response they give.
