Abstract

The 10 kW m-Si PV plant, installed in 1982 on the roof of the LEEE-TISO, was the first grid connected system in Europe. In proximity of its 20-year design life, a collaboration between LEEE-TISO and the ESTI laboratory (JRC, ISPRA, RE Unit) has been started to determine the Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) of the system, and to investigate the physical degradation mechanism in action.
