Abstract

A model for treating ripple induced fast ion losses during ion cyclotron resonance frequency heating is presented. It is suitable for codes solving an orbit average three-dimensional Fokker-Planck equation with a Monte Carlo method, and has been implemented in such a code. The resulting code has been used for a comparison with experimental data form Tore Supra and for assessing the ripple induced losses in different ICRF heating scenarios.
