The certification of the contents (mass fractions) of Ce, Dy, Gd, La, Nd, Sc, Sm, Tb, Tm, Yb, Th and U in calcareous soil BCR-690Funded under: FP5-GROWTH
This report describes the preparation of a calcareous soil reference material, BCR-690, the homogeneity and stability studies and the analytical work performed for the certification of the content of rare earth elements (REE) and two additional elements. This report contains all the results and gives the methods used to certify the contents of 10 rare earth elements: cerium (Ce), dysprosium (Dy), gadolinium (Gd), lanthanum (La), neodynium (Nd), scandium (Sc), samarium (Sm), terbium (Tb), thulium (Tm) and ytterbium (Yb), and of the elements thorium (Th) and uranium (U) (mass fractions expressed as: mg/kg on a dry matter basis). Indicative values are given for the content of six REEs: erbium (Er), europium (Eu), holmium (Ho), lutetium (Lu), praseodymium (Pr) and yttrium (Y), and for 14 trace elements: antimony (Sb), arsenic (As), caesium (Cs), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), gold (Au), hafnium (Hf), iron (Fe), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W) and zinc (Zn).
