Critical evaluation of fundamental data for the pyrochemical partitioning process
The activities are presented to obtain a consistent set of thermochemical and electrochemical data for the pyrochemical processing of spent nuclear fuel. Gibbs energies of formation in the super cooled state are obtained by critical evaluation of literature data for some rare-earth and actinide trichlorides. Activity coefficients of the in molten LiCl-KCl salt are calculated from experimental EMF studies published in literature. The relation between thermo- and electrochemical data is discussed.
