A full-scale reinforced concrete RC dual system was tested in the ELSA laboratory. First, seismic loads were applied to the original structure; the damaged frame was then repaired with Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites and re-tested. The present paper discusses the main issues of the experimental programme on the repaired structure and proposes a brief summary of test results. The guiding principles for designing the FRP repair are presented and the performance of the original and strengthened structure is compared. The most relevant insights provided by such experiments are also pointed out.
