Abstract

The International Measurement Evaluation Programme (IMEP) is an inter-laboratory comparison scheme, which is founded owned and coordinated by the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM) since 1988. In March 1999 IRMM launched the IMEP-14 round, which was focusing on trace elements in sediment. The organisation of the round and the participants' results of IMEP-14 are the subject of this report. After reference values for the sediment material had been established, Certified Test Samples (CTS) were distributed to the analytical community worldwide. In total 239 participants reported results, which are presented in graphical format in this report. IMEP-14 aims to assist the international analytical community to evaluate the international comparability for trace element measurements in sediment and related matrices such as soil.
