Response to "Comment on 'On two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic turbulence' " [Phys. Plasmas 9, 1484 (2002)]
The question about whether the Kolmogorov phenomenology or the Iroshnikov - Kraichnan (IK) phenomenology is more relevant in magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) turbulence has led to a long-standing debate. As MHD turbulence is more intermittent in 2-D than in 3-D, it is no longer obvious which criterion should be chosen to distinguish between the two phenomenologies.
