Abstract

Progress is reported on the association's work for fusion technology, carried out in the frame of the European Fusion Development Agreement (EFDA). It is targeted to foster the cooperative efforts of laboratories associated to the EU Fusion Programme, in particular in view of construction and exploitation of larger experimental facilities such as JET and ITER. The tokamak represents the main development line of the common programme. In parallel, the stellarator concept is under development to potentially improve the confinement for reactor operation.

This is the first time that the association's annual report has been produced only as a CD-ROM and not in printed form. The CD-ROM contains the text of the report in PDF format. Further information on the work of the association is available on the website: http://www.fzk.de/fusion.
