Abstract

The declaration and verification activities requested by the INFCIRC/540 Protocol require the support of informatics tools to deal with the huge amounts of information to be considered. The different users involved need tools to support them in performing their duties in a cost-effective way. This objective can be achieved by working with information in digital form at all levels, from declaration at locations to on-site inspection.

This paper briefly describes the main features and the current status of the SIT project (Site Investigation Tools), aiming at developing GIS-based tools to support declaration, verification and inspection of nuclear sites.
