Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Pyrolysis research is on the development stage where processes are modified and scaled-up, new feedstocks included, and first feedbacks from the liquid users received. The quality of pyrolysis liquids varies with the on-going research work, and simultaneously the end-users ask for specifications and norms for these liquids, which cannot be yet specifically defined. Because IEA-PYRA had no funds for extensive research the data presented here has been produced mainly in separate projects outside the PYRA. The PYRA meetings were an excellent forum for discussions and information exchange on the field. Recent publications on the status of test methods and fuel oil specifications by IEA-PYRA group are included in Appendices and hence, only a summary and some additional information are presented in this chapter.
