Abstract

The Global Ocean Data Assimilation Experiment (GODAE) is intended to provide a global system of observations, communications, modelling and assimilation that will deliver regular comprehensive information on the state of the oceans. As part of this work, the GODAE High Resolution Sea Surface Temperature Pilot Project (GHRSST-PP) aims to develop an operational data product based on a combined analysis of satellite and in situ sea surface measurements.

The Second GHRSST Workshop, hosted at the Earth Observation Research Centre in Tokyo, Japan, dealt with the theme "Removing the barriers to the implementation of the GHRSST-PP". This report contains the proceedings and conclusions of the workshop.
